On the 9th October 2019, we’ll be celebrating Avon UK’s 60th anniversary – but we’ve decided to start the celebrations a little earlier! From giving our bestselling Dry Oil Spray a vintage makeover to launching our 60 Years of Beauty Box, we’ve been having a lot of fun.
To kick things off, we decided to hang out with some seriously inspirational women. From survivors to fundraisers, discover their stories and find out how these women have become the real Avon heroes.
Giovanna – Coppafeel! Patron & Avon Rep Ambassador
An advocate for breast cancer awareness, mental health issues and all things motherhood, Giovanna’s warm, witty and authentic approach to life has won her millions of fans across the UK.
As Avon’s Rep Ambassador, Giovanna supports our legion of Representatives on how to grow their beauty businesses via digital and social media. With Giovanna’s successful balance of running her business and being a busy mother, she can share her insight on how to approach content creation and entrepreneurship with real life experience!
Giovanna’s fave: “I just love the Dry Oil Spray because it leaves my skin feeling soooo soft!”
Tulsi – Changing Faces Champion
Tulsi is a truly inspiring force. At the age of just 10, Tulsi was in a plane crash where she not only sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns to 45% of her face and body, but also sadly lost her immediate family.
For years Tulsi was bullied for how she looked, and now she channels her experiences in her role as ambassador for Changing Faces, the UK’s leading charity for anyone with a visible difference. Together with Changing Faces, Tulsi supports others and raises awareness about the impact of appearance-related bullying and abuse. What a woman!
Tulsi’s fave: “I love the True Colour Lipstick. It’s so hydrating and nourishing. I suffer with dry lips around my scars, but this just glides on.”
Krishma – Avon Sales Leader
Four years ago, Krishma was struggling to balance work, life and kids. But after seeing the opportunity to work for Avon, she took it. Now she successfully runs her own Avon business part-time, which has allowed her to earn the extra income she needed to treat both herself and her children. Plus, she’s also met some incredible people doing what she loves – making it more than just a job, but a passion!
Krishma’s fave: “The SuperShock Max Volume Mascara captures all of my lashes for amazing volume. It’s also brilliant for sensitive eyes!”
Abi – Avon Sales Leader
Not only is Abi an amazing Sales Leader, she also has a real eye for design, creativity and all things interiors. Running her business alongside her wife, Abi chooses to manage her beauty business through a mix of online and face-to-face sales. As well as boosting her earnings, being a Sales Leader has helped her to overcome anxiety, boost her confidence and channel her creativity.
Abi’s fave: “I love the Cream-To-Powder because it gives a flawless finish with a natural coverage.”
Natasha – Refuge Campaigner
Natasha Saunders is the definition of a strong woman. Surviving eight years of physical and psychological abuse, Natasha eventually contacted Refuge who she credits with giving her the courage to involve the police and convict her perpetrator. Natasha is now happily remarried, and campaigning with Refuge to support other women.
Natasha’s fave: “My Avon icon is this Tinted Moisturiser. It’s really lightweight and gives a natural look.”
Georgia – Coppafeel! Boobette
Georgia is passionate about raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. Thankfully, Georgia had heard CoppaFeel!’s message about the importance of knowing your normal and this led to her being diagnosed at the earliest stage, having successful treatment and surviving breast cancer. Georgia now uses her own experiences to educate others on the importance of regular checking as one of CoppaFeel!’s Boobettes, who travel the length and breadth of the UK visiting schools and workplaces to get more people to check their chests!
Georgia’s fave: “Far Away is a timeless scent, and I just can’t get enough of it!”
Natalie – Women’s Aid Representative and Survivor
Natalie is a survivor of violence and abuse, and now proudly campaigns with Women’s Aid to educate people on the various forms abuse can take. Natalie’s main focus is to raise awareness around controlling and coercive behaviour, making sure people have the confidence they need to reach out for help and to seek support.
Natalie’s fave: “The Glimmerstick Eyeliner really stays puts, and is super-glamorous for a night out!”
