Lisa Armstrong Collection

Pro make-up has finally lost its fear factor – Avon has joined forces with one of the UK’s best-known make-up artists, Lisa Armstrong, to create an entirely-new colour cosmetics brand which is set to become the ultimate capsule make-up collection.

Two years in the making, this new ‘one stop’ make-up brand will give you the confidence to create an array of gorgeous new looks thanks to its exceptional formulations and perfect shades – all designed and curated by self-confessed “make-up addict” Lisa, who shares Avon’s mission to democratise beauty for all women – making premium-quality beauty available to everyone. As a result, she has created her dream line-up of products, describing them as “very wearable, very approachable, very pretty, very affordable.”

“I love products – and I try everything going,” says Lisa. “But in the end, I always
gravitate back to a group of ‘go-to’ products that really work. With this collection I was inspired by the idea of taking everything I’ve learned over the years, and
creating my ultimate wardrobe of incredible products. Honestly, it’s every make-up artist’s dream.”

For Lisa, the choice to enter into her first commercial beauty partnership with Avon couldn’t have been easier. After graduating from the Glauca Rossi school of make-up over twenty years ago, Avon was the brand that booked Lisa for her first professional job. Now, launching this pro-inspired collection with them, she feels her career “has come full circle.”

She was heavily involved in every part of the process, travelling to the labs to work on formulations, and bringing her meticulous eye for detail to the design of every product – from weighted eyeliners to help with balance, to just the right nib shape for a brow pencil, to the foundation pump and the feel of the compacts in your hand.

Lisa Armstrong Lip Liner

The collection includes everything Lisa would use to do her own make-up: starting with a great moisturising primer, and working right through from concealer and highlighter to bronzer, brows and setting powder. There are thirteen products in total, allowing you to create a full-face evening make-up or a 60-second take on Lisa’s own go-to eye look, which she describes as “a lash and a wash.” There are personal touches, too: each of the twelve lipliners is named after one of Lisa’s closest girlfriends, while the matching lipsticks go by the same friend’s nickname.

As well as the lipsticks, Lisa’s favourites in the range include the Dazzle Stick Eye Pencils – “they’re the most incredible, mineral-inspired earth tones. They’re so creamy, but once you’ve blended them, I find that they will not move” and the Gleam Supreme Highlighter. “There’s a pink one and a gold one, and they look so flattering with such a subtle sparkle that looks great on every skin tone. I hate it when highlighters look great in the compact but then disappointing on the
skin – these really deliver the goods.”

In addition to her expertise, Lisa also brings her refreshing brand of honesty and good humour into the whole collection. “I’m never going to say ‘you have to do this and buy that and apply them in this order, with this brush…’,” she says, “as far as I’m concerned, you can use a sponge, a brush, fingers…there’s no right or wrong. There are no rules in make-up.” “The point is that you can wear any of my collection – it’s all so easy, flattering and wearable. And if you’re not sure what to go for, there are loads of ways you can get advice from me, from the videos we’ve made to the tips and tricks I’ve shared with the Avon reps, too.”

What Avon and Lisa share is their belief in make-up’s power to transform and give confidence to everyone, and their passionate support for “women doing their thing.” It comes at an exciting time for the brand, which is undergoing a major relaunch, taking a more dynamic and activist approach that will bring to life its missions of self-improvement and independence through beauty. Since lockdown, Avon has seen a 114% surge in the number of new representatives joining the UK business – and given that analysts predict that the economic impacts of Covid-19 would be “disproportionately felt by women,” there has never been a more important time to help Representatives and customers alike feel enabled and inspired to work in beauty.

Housed in “feminine, but grown-up” cool pink packaging with metallic highlights, the collection is set to redefine pro beauty for a new era of real beauty. “There’s no trickery or fakery here,” says Lisa. “It’s my signature on the packaging, it’s my work on the models in the pictures, and it’s my take on what great products should look and feel like. It’s a project that’s come from my heart.”
